Since 1991, People Helping People, otherwise known as PHP, has been assisting eligible residents of Carroll County, AR, with the purchase of desperately needed prescriptions. Our recipients are your family, friends and neighbors that reside in Carroll County.
The average cost of one prescription is $68 a month. In 2023, People Helping People spent $37,945 on medicines to assist Carroll County residents; a dramatic increase of almost 40% over the previous year. We purchased 857 prescriptions for 316 patients. We are truly delighted to have made such a difference in so many people's lives -- and it only happens with your help. Please consider donating funds to this worthy cause.
We've had the opportunity to assist residents who have had hardships such as a house fire, medication that was stolen, or the elderly who fall into the donut hole with Medicare and Medicaid. We provide for residents who are not prepared to carry the heavy burden of unexpected emergency medication for infants and children. We help some individuals and families with insurance co-pays. We can help with enrollment in other, more permanent assistance programs.
Dan Krotz of the Ozark Radio Hour recently interviewed PHP founder Susan Hopkins and our social worker, Roberta Kirby. Learn more about People Helping People by listening to their chat online!
